Unfortunately, we do not offer this service at this time. What most people refer to as an "evaluation" is a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation (CDE). While speech pathologists, occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and other professionals may participate in the evaluation process, only a physician or clinical psychologist can diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
While there is some overlap in goals between education and behavior or speech therapy, we do not currently offer this type of service. However, if the client experiences behavioral or communicative challenges that impede their ability to participate in academic or educational services, we can work to remove those boundaries.
Our services are typically covered by the client's private insurance or Medicaid. In order to ensure coverage, we verify eligibility with the client's insurance company before beginning services.
Yes. We do have a waitlist of clients who have reached out but are not currently receiving services. Placement on the waitlist is determined by the date we receive an official service request and the date we receive all required documents.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is still a relatively new field, and it is evolving rapidly. We recommend researching the benefits and potential harm that ABA therapy can cause before making any decision. Specifically, seeking input from members of the autistic community can provide you with a list of red flags to look out for if you do choose to continue searching for a provider. Despite having its systematic flaws, ABA therapy is currently unparalleled as a vehicle for support based on several factors including the availability of funding and the level of individualization possible in services. The best advice that we can give is to remain actively involved in your loved one's care, ask as many questions as possible, and trust your gut when something does not feel right. If your provider is truly dedicated to providing the quality of care necessary to ensure safe and compassionate ABA services, they will demonstrate transparency throughout the entire treatment process.
